The Best of

With Feast Festival just around the corner, we’re buzzing with excitement!

From the 9th to the 24th of November we’ll be bringing 82 events to 42 venues95% of which are wheelchair accessible. This is made possible with the help of 900 artists, performers, volunteers, and crew! As we celebrate 27 years of Feast, this year’s theme, Transformation, highlights the power of art and culture to inspire change and open hearts and minds. Let’s unite in celebrating our stories, creativity, and community. We can’t wait to kick off Pridevember with you!

Adelaide Queer Film Festival

This year Feast launches the Adelaide Queer Film Festival. We’re proud to present the biggest film program in 15 years, featuring premieres, documentaries, and queer classics.

Among Dr Pacella and co-curator Dr Stuart Richards’s film festival highlights are:

  • The South Australian premiere of The Astronaut Lovers and the Australian premiere of Perfect Endings – two delightful gay rom-coms.
  • A special 35mm retrospective screening of the iconic Paris is Burning, a trailblazing documentary that ignited the New Queer Cinema movement.
  • The seminal lesbian film Go Fish, a touchstone of 90s lesbian culture.
  • The oceanic premiere of We Forgot to Break Up, featuring a trans lead playing a trans character.
  • A Queer Horror double feature night with a contemporary Australian horror debut In The Room Where He Waits, and a cult classic, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge.

There is something quite special about watching queer films surrounded by queer people.” – Co-Curator Dr. Stuart Richards
