To Whom It May Concern,

AnglicareSA invited Tish Naughton, the CEO of Feast Festival, to be our Guest Speaker during Pride Month to provide background to Feast Festival and how important the festival is to the LGBTQIA+ community. The focus of the speaking engagement was to provide our employees with insights into how as a collective organisation and as individuals we can help spread the message about the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and community.

Through Tish’s presentation we learned that it is acceptable, and encouraged to ask questions if you are genuinely curious about understanding more about the LGBTQIA+ community but that there is not one individual who holds the collective knowledge for the whole community.

One of the highlights of the presentation was the way Tish weaved statistics and data into the story to help amplify the message. This is incredibly important in changing the narrative and traditional mindsets and figures which we may all be carrying around in our subconscious.

There is an authenticity about the way Tish spoke about her experiences and how it related to the objective of the speaking opportunity. It was her friendly and inviting nature, which created the space for such an enjoyable discussion.

We highly recommend Tish as a presenter and if anything, we probably could have allowed for an additional 20 minutes to explore in more detail some of the themes which were discussed.
