Vitalstatistix

New New Fire Island

Antidisciplinary Art duo Pony Express pivot from arts raconteurs to real estate entrepreneurs in New New Fire Island. A post-immersive, property development mega-project pitching plans to redevelop Port Adelaide into a hyper-holiday destination for the globalised gay and gay at heart. Sparked by an IRL venture capital vacation plan/scam to gentrify an island community into unregulated fabulousness.

Vitalstatistix’s Waterside Workers Hall shopfront will rebrand as a timeshare sales hub. Our local and interstate conceptual brokerage undertake feasibility studies, community co-creation, marketing CAMPaigns and architectural modeling in Stage two of their R&D.

With our ‘if we build it, they will come’ attitude Pony Express invite locals to survey & buy into the pros, cons + add-ons of designing a utopia.

Drop in anytime for this immersive role-play experience.

Learn More About the Artist/Producer...

Pony Express is experimental art duo Ian Sinclair (NSW) & Loren Kronemyer (TAS). Through our pandrogynous collaborative process, we lampoon soft and hard power structures to create large-scale, world-building projects.

Constructing alternate timelines, parallel universes and speculative presents that consider queerness, kinship, ecologies and the ethical quandaries of cultural spectacle. Uniting media and live art, socially-engaged research and participation to craft intricate mirror universes that reflect and refract our own.

We embed in the language and culture of emerging social movements or subcultures, turning these into detailed speculative situations for audiences to explore and become implicated in. Often cooperating with LGBTQIA+ communities, activists, scientists, sportspeople and thought leaders to co-create in a 'made for and with' model.

We focus on agency and power for our human and nonhuman collaborators/audiences via open-ended participation models, which allows us to make work that has real impact on navigating the struggles of living together & troubling the ethical landscape of the present day.
