FEAST ON...

Cassie Pow

Aqua Splash

Join in the fun of aqua movement with music, using the support and resistance of water.

Held in a private indoor hydrotherapy pool, this event welcomes all identities, fitness levels and bodies that feel comfortable in chest deep water. Created for those in our community who feel excluded or unsafe at public pools to have a comfortable place to enjoy being in the water. Wear what you feel comfortable and supported in without the need to wear traditional bathers.

Cassie will guide you through 45 minutes of aerobic, strength and flexibility movements working at a pace and intensity that suits you, with modifications available. You are also welcome to do your own thing, doing movements that feel comfortable to you, dance, or float. This is your space. No experience or swimming necessary as you’ll be standing in the water or using noodles to float.

There are stairs with railing to access the pool, and a rail inside the pool edge. The pool depth is a gradual slope from 1.2 to 1.6m. Wear your swim wear or change at the venue, remembering to bring a water bottle, towel and change of clothes. There is an accessible toilet, private accessible change rooms, open showers on wall and 2 private showers with fold out seats.

Learn More About the Artist/Producer...

Cassie Powditch (she/her) is an Aqua Fitness Instructor as well as a Birth and Postnatal Doula. She created this event to provide a space for the LGBTQIA+ community, especially trans and gender-diverse folks, to feel safe to show up as themselves and enjoy moving in water.

Having felt the benefits of being able to move freely in the water, when chronic illness flares made it difficult to move on land, Cassie wants to share the freedom that warm water can bring. Being perceived and judged by the general public can be a barrier to accessing aquatic environments. She wants to provide an inclusive space for everyone to come as they are to enjoy low impact movement and private access to these facilities.

Her vision as a doula is for all families to have continuity of care throughout the perinatal period, bringing babies into the world, feeling informed in their options and supported in their choices.

Cassie is currently taking on doula clients. She teaches weekly aqua fitness classes and classes for pregnant people and women. You can contact her on Instagram @doula.cass
