It’s a King Thing

Pip Stachio & Bruno Salsicce

A love letter to the erased, venueless, underground but growing community of Drag Kings and Things. It’s a King Thing is a place to be weird, don that stache, let your inner boi, thing, wild genderless fool free!
Historically underrepresented in drag scenes the world over, Drag Kings and Things are on the rise.
Experience some of Australia’s finest Kings and Things (all whom once called Adelaide home!) or test your own man-spread by signing up for an open stage spot! Then party into the night with DJ Scott Balls and your new-found drag bros, siblings and pals.
If you want some support putting together your act or approaching drag, look out for workshops run by award-winning kings Bruno Salsicce and Pip Stachio.

About the presenter: Pip Stachio & Bruno Salsicce

Travelling from Naarm, where the Drag King and Thing scene is burgeoning, Pip Stachio and Bruno Salsicce want to share the love. They have gathered a crew to visit and gather with Drag Kings and Things on Kaurna land.
Pip Stachio may be small, but he packs, mostly with socks. A mixture of drag, theatre and burlesque, along with a dash of physical comedy, Pip is one sweet little nut. A jack-off of all trades Pip also produces and directs award-winning physical comedy shows that have toured across the country. With a big heart, big bulge and big t*ts, Pip uses boyish charm and male privilege to build community and advocate for better working conditions and opportunities for drag kings and things.
Bruno Salsicce is a proud mommy's boy with a lynx scent that will enter the room first. Despite his unearned confidence, sax-appeal and unnecessary amount of chest hair, you can’t help but love Bruno. Bruno brings the crooner wog boy onto stages around Australia, with his saxophone, Prosciutto, providing queer camp drag performances. 2026’s MEDEA’s Melbourne’s Best Drag King, the 2022 Drag-A-Thon winner, and two-time winner of Pride of our Footscray 'Draggiest Home Video' competition.
Image Description: Six drag king and thing performers appear in two rows on a grey, satin textured background. They are all wearing bold costumes and makeup.
