I’m Changing My Major to Gay – A Night of Queer Musical Cabaret

Gemini Creative Arts

I’m Changing My Major to Gay is a joyful celebration of the queer musicals that have made us laugh, cry, and find ourselves in song.

Featuring some of Adelaide’s brightest musical theatre performers, this one-night-only cabaret brings together iconic Broadway favourites, contemporary queer anthems, hidden gems, and unforgettable showstoppers in an evening bursting with heart, humour, and theatrical flair. Whether you’re a lifelong theatre kid, a devoted musical lover, or simply looking for a fabulous night out during Feast Festival, this is your invitation to celebrate the stories that have shaped queer musical theatre.

From love and loss to identity, family, friendship, and finding where you belong, these songs capture the joy, resilience, and complexity of LGBTQIA+ lives. Expect powerhouse vocals, moving performances, plenty of laughs, and maybe even a few happy tears.

The evening also offers an exciting preview of our upcoming production of Fun Home, the groundbreaking Tony Award-winning musical based on Alison Bechdel’s graphic memoir. Through beautiful music and deeply personal storytelling, Fun Home explores memory, family, sexuality, and the moments that shape who we become.

Whether you know every Broadway cast recording by heart or you’re discovering queer musicals for the first time, I’m Changing My Major to Gay promises an unforgettable night of music, community, and celebration.

Come celebrate the stories, songs, and community that make queer musical theatre unforgettable.
