Yoz Mensch (she/they) is a multi-award-winning trans artist living and working on Kaurna Yerta. A founding member of Cackling Jackal, her most recent autobiographical work My Grandpa Doesn’t Follow Me On Instagram (Directed by Mary Angley, Sound Design by Dan Thorpe), had significant success in its debut season at Adelaide Fringe 2026, and has since been programmed at festivals around the world.
In July of 2026 she made her State Theatre Company South Australia debut as Vanya in the critically acclaimed Uncle Vanya But There’s ASMR Soap Cutting Videos Playing In The Bottom Right Corner, presented by Paper Mouth Theatre and directed by Mary Angley.
In 2025, Yoz ate the scenery in Street Legal’s No Gods! No Masters! No Doorlists! No Bouncers! music video, ate tourists as The Koala King in John DeCaux’s feature film Dropbear, and ate pink soap shavings at the media shoot for Uncle Vanya But There’s ASMR Soap Cutting Videos Playing In The Bottom Right Corner.
She trained at L’Ecole Philippe Gaulier in 2024, between touring her solo work, No Babies In The Sauna to Perth, Adelaide, Prague, and Edinburgh Fringes, winning Best Comedy at Prague Fringe, and the House of Oz Purse Prize in Adelaide.
