About the presenter: City of Salisbury
Building Pride is a City of Salisbury initiative created in partnership with The Queer Society and Anglicare Community Connections. The exhibition supports young people across the City of Salisbury to make and share visual art that celebrates the diversity of their community. By giving young artists space, materials and a public audience, the program builds confidence, connection and creative practice, and offers a very Salisbury answer to the question of what pride can look like when it's built from the ground up.
Image Description: Pink 3D block letters spelling "PRIDE" sit on a pale blue platform, with a rainbow-coloured road receding behind them. Rows of rainbow-coloured blocks run across the foreground.
Feast Festival acknowledges that we gather, create and celebrate on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise First Nations peoples as the original storytellers, artists and custodians of this land.
We honour and respect queer First Nations communities, including Sistagirls and Brothaboys, and recognise the enduring connection between culture, identity, community and Country.
Sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal Land.
