Gay Bay Anniversary Celebration

Join Dr Gertrude Glossip in celebration of the Gay Bay at the Glenelg Town Hall. In this interactive talk, Gertrude will regale with stories of the 1973 Gay Proud Parade, focusing on the ‘Cosmos’ dance which took place in the Glenelg Town Hall Ballroom. Alongside special guests, hear of Glenelg’s long history of gay activism and notable residents.

In celebration of Gertrude’s Pearl Anniversary, a small display of Gertrude’s historic wardrobe and 1973 Gay Proud Parade items will be on show. Gertrude’s new book, ‘Gert by Sea’ will also be available to preview.

Glass of wine and nibbles included. All proceeds go to The Parkestone Foundation.

Dr Gertrude Glossip PhD (Formal Drapery) has regaled Adelaideans with queer history talks for thirty years, 2023 marks her Pearl Anniversary. Gertrude's alter-ego, Will Sergeant, was honoured with an OAM in 2023 for his work as a Queer activist and historian.
