Emerge: Identity + Diversity + Community is a month-long performative community art installation project presented by Bfriend Uniting Communities throughout November during the Feast Festival.
Building on from ‘Lived Visibility’ last year, the community art project aims to foster self-empowerment, belonging and community connection while showcasing the diverse identities of the rainbow community through socially responsive visual art making, weekend workshops in October and free Friday evening performances on the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th of November between 4pm-6pm, culminating with a finale block party on 24th November.
Art activations, creative workshops, performance events and the finale will take place on Kaurna land, in and around the ‘Ruby Award-Winning’ U City Art Studio at 24 Pitt Street Adelaide.
Emerge is a safe space and features live multi-media installations and interactive shop-window displays, family-friendly pop-up drag experiences/performances plus a themed fashion parade, DJ set/s, juice bar, and social dancing.
