Aristotle and Dante

This coming-of-age romantic film, written and directed by Aitch Alberto, is an adaptation of the 2012 novel of the same name by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. It follows two Mexican American teenagers who find an instant connection in 1987 El Paso, who explore a new, unusual friendship and the difficult road to self-discovery.

The cast includes Eva Longoria and features two moving performances from Max Pelayo and Reese Gonzales. Alberto's adaptation embraces the heartwarming nature that made Sáenz’s novel mean so much to so many readers.

"Yes, it’s a love story, but it’s also an incredibly beautiful exploration of intersectionality." - Peter Debruge, Variety

Aristotle and Dante had its World Premiere at the 47th International Toronto Film Festival in 2022, and will be premiered in South Australia at Feast Festival on November 9th 2023.
